Azalea Lace Bug

Azalea Lace Bug nymphs remain active in the City of Pittsburgh.

Mines continue to expand for the larvae of first generation birch leafminers.

Calico Scale

While I didn't get a chance to look for Calico Scale crawlers this week, they should be starting to emerge fairly soon.

Euonymus Scale

The crawlers were just starting to emerge on Wednesday in the city of Pittsburgh. They were still located on the twigs of Euonymus europaeus (Common Spindle Tree) and have not moved to the new foliage yet.

The larvae are 3/4" long and feeding at this time.

Observed on a wide variety of perennials as well as on woody shrubs this week. Nymphs were found feeding on Viburnum nudum this past week.
