Each spring, Penn State Cooperative Extension scouts nurseries and public areas for the initial emergence of the key insect pests that feed on trees and shrubs in southwest Pennsylvania. Additionally, Growing Degree Days (GDD) are recorded at four sites (Uniontown, Pittsburgh, Wexford, and Butler) To receive an e-mail copy of the scouting reports please send a request to mcm2@psu.edu.
